At the February 3, 2022 Council meeting the Proposal to increase the Troy Redistricting Commission to up to 10 members was passed by the Council Majority and 3 public hearings were scheduled re this proposal. The notice from the Troy City Clerk follows:


NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Public hearings shall be held regarding a local law amending Troy City Charter Part 2, Article 1, Section C-2, as it relates to the number of Redistricting Commission Members. Said public hearings shall be held on Thursday, February 17, at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, at 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order No. 202.1, this meeting shall be held hybrid via videoconference and live-streamed on the City Council’s YouTube channel. Troy residents who wish to comment during the public hearing must have the ability to join the Zoom meeting via computer or phone and will be required to pre-register for the meeting. The link to register for the meeting will be posted at least 24 hours before the meeting on the Council Agenda and Minutes page and sent out through the City Clerk’s public notices email list. You must register for the hearing by 3 pm on the day of the hearing.

Per the City Council, written comments will not be read aloud at this hearing but will be added to the hearing minutes. Written comments should be sent to maria.debonis@troyny.gov and must be received by 3 pm on the day of the hearing. You must include your full name and residential address, as required by Council rules. Written comments received after 3 pm shall be treated as correspondence and forwarded to the Council for their review.
